About the Role While partially performing an operational role the job holder will offer operational support to the Assistant Manager in our Buckshaw Warehouse. Identifying issues and creating solutions to challenges while supporting the direct day to day management and co-ordination of the team. Temporary cover is provided in the absence of the Assistant Manager Shifts This role will rotate each week between Early shift and Late shift : Early Shift 05:50 – 13:15 Monday – Thursday 05:50 – 14:00 Friday Late Shift 13:05 – 21:30 Monday – Thursday 14:00 – 18:00 Friday Your Impact The successful candidate will have an opportunity to be involved in : The jobholder will support local resources (people, process, parts), responding as appropriate to changing circumstances and priorities. The job holder is responsible for supporting the development of human resources, ensuring teams are trained and skilled for all tasks to maintain an effective running department Responsibility for receipt, pick, pack and despatch of product across a variety of carriers and fulfilment routes. Maintaining a flexible and dynamic approach to changing demands withing tight timescales is paramount. Maintaining an environment with a continuous improvement outlook with creative approaches to problem solving is essential to maintain a competitive business Key Responsibilities Customer focus is maintained by organising local resources (people, processes, parts) to enable the achievement of volume, quality, budget, and performance targets including Direct Labour Efficiency and resource effectiveness Support effective two-way communication with an ethos of one team alignment Ensure Health and Safety is managed effectively supporting the risk assessment process and ensuring actions / measures are adhered to Support the management of absence through completing return to works, phased returns, etc. Time and attendance are monitored and supported using UKG while advising the Assistant Manager of any specific changes or errors for approval Acceptable performance is supported and maintained using company policy and guidelines (investigations, grievances and disciplinaries up to stage 3) Support Team Development through highlighting training needs Supporting the coaching and mentoring individuals as required Promote and support of company benefits, wellbeing support and related activities Maintain an organised environment using continuous improvement methods to ensure sustainable change Support recruitment activity through relevant assessment tools and processes as required to maintain sufficient levels of human resources Support probationary reviews by offering relevant information to help the Team Manager in making future employment decisions Education and Experience Good awareness or experienced in people management skills Demonstrate effective use of Coaching Skills and techniques PC literate in Windows / Word / Excel / Lotus Notes / T&A System / MRP System Ability to apply Lean techniques (e.g., 5S, 5Y Analysis, Fish-bone diagrams, Single Event Analysis) Effective organisational skills. Ability to organise own time with effective prioritisation.
