Job Description
Commercial Property (NQ - 5PQE) | Plymouth | Regional Firm | Varied Matters | Clear Progression
I'm looking to speak with Real Estate Solicitors interested in an opportunity with real client exposure, structured development, and the chance to join a respected, fast-growing team in the South West.
This is with a Legal 500 Plymouth based firm, with a strong commercial presence across the region. They are known for delivering high-quality, partner-led legal services with a client-focused approach. With a turnover exceeding £5.5 million and consistent year-on-year growth, they are continuing to scale their commercial offering in response to strong demand.
The Commercial Property department currently generates in excess of £1.8 million annually and is a core part of the firm’s strategic growth plan. The team handles a wide variety of work including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals, commercial landlord and tenant matters, development site assembly, secured lending, and ongoing portfolio management for SMEs, developers, housing associations, and regional investors.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team of around 12 fee earners, supported by a wider commercial division of 30+ professionals including legal assistants, apprentices, and senior colleagues with diverse routes into the profession. The department is led by an experienced commercial property partner with a strong track record in mentoring and team development. Despite the firm’s rapid growth, it retains a flat structure, non-corporate culture, and emphasis on collaboration.
You will manage a caseload of commercial property matters with direct client contact from the outset. You'll advise on a broad range of transactions (often involving mixed-use developments, leases, and finance work) and work alongside the commercial and corporate teams on integrated matters. You’ll be encouraged to build relationships, contribute to marketing and BD activity, and support the development of junior colleagues.
You should be confident handling transactions with minimal supervision.
In return, you’ll join a high-performing team within a firm that genuinely invests in its people. Benefits include a competitive salary, 25 days’ holiday + BH, additional gifted leave for birthdays and the Christmas period, private health insurance, regular staff socials, hybrid working options, and a cycle-to-work scheme. The firm also emphasises and supports internal career progression.
