IT Asset Manager – Hardware & Software

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing organisation in a brand-new role, where you’ll take full ownership of establishing and shaping the IT Asset Management function from the ground up.
We’re looking for someone who can not only manage assets but design, implement, and embed best-in-class processes, governance, and controls across both hardware and software estates. This role offers real autonomy and the chance to make a lasting impact on how IT operates within the business.
The Role
As IT Asset Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading the organisation’s approach to asset management, ensuring full visibility, compliance, and optimisation across the IT estate.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and own the IT Asset Management function, including processes, policies, and governance frameworks
* Manage the full asset lifecycle: procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal
* Build and maintain accurate asset inventories, ensuring high-quality data and tracking
* Ensure compliance with licensing, contracts, and audit requirements
* Partner with procurement to drive cost optimisation and value from IT investments
* Develop reporting and insights to support strategic decision-making
* Introduce and embed best practices, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Collaborate across IT and the wider business to improve efficiency, automation, and control
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in IT Asset Management, ideally with exposure to building or maturing a function
* Strong understanding of asset lifecycle management, governance, and compliance xsngvjr
* Experience with asset management tools (e.g., Jira Service Management or similar)
* Knowledge of CMDB and configuration management principles
* Analytical mindset, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* ITIL or similar service management framework experience
