About The Role
As a Laundry Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every person working here understands that our residents are individuals with their own stories. Joining HC-One offers a wonderful opportunity to give back to these individuals.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining high standards of order and tidiness in the laundry area, ensuring residents' clothing is well cared for by washing, drying, ironing, and repairing items as needed. You will also manage linen stocks and report issues to the Senior Housekeeper. The environment you create will reflect your attention to detail and commitment to safety and comfort.
You will handle tasks such as folding, separating linen and clothes for return or redistribution, always with kindness. Pride in your work and maintaining a well-kept environment are essential, contributing to residents' longer, happier, and healthier lives.
We’re looking for someone with experience, though training will be provided. Excellent time management and organizational skills are necessary. A positive attitude, natural ability to communicate, and considerate manner are key qualities. You should be a good listener and able to give clear instructions, always showing kindness and respect in interactions with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All staff will receive safeguarding training relevant to their role and additional training as needed. You must be proactive in seeking advice and reporting concerns, including escalation if necessary.
We will provide comprehensive training, offering a great opportunity to learn new skills. In return, you will have access to a wide range of benefits supporting your physical and mental well-being. We are committed to investing in our staff, offering additional support and benefits such as:
* Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.
* Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG checks.
* Free uniform.
* A nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more.
* Company pension scheme.
* 28 days of annual leave, including bank holidays.
* Group life assurance.
* Wagestream for financial wellbeing and flexible pay access.
* Learning and development opportunities with support to achieve qualifications.
* GP online service providing 24/7 access to GP consultations for you and your children under 16.
* Opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues within a dedicated team.
* Colleague discounts at over 1600 high street stores.
* Access to a free Employee Assistance Programme for physical, mental, and financial support.
* Recognition schemes such as ‘Kindness in Care’ and Long Service Awards.
