Assistant Branch Manager

Location: Macclesfield Area
Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 (varying dependent on experience) plus bonus
About the Role
Our client is a well‑respected and long‑established distributor of construction supplies / building materials / timber products. The branch in the Macclesfield area requires a new Assistant Branch Manager. The branch operates in a busy environment and needs an all‑rounder with good stock‑management and buying experience, and an understanding of how a well‑run branch should function. Demonstrable experience in both sales and operations is required.
Responsibilities
* Assist the branch manager with all aspects of running a successful branch.
* Help keep the branch moving in the right direction and maintain market share.
* Apply stock‑management and buying skills to optimise inventory.
* Support the team in both sales and operational tasks.
Qualifications
* Management or supervisory experience.
* Current work experience in the construction supply sector, preferably with timber knowledge.
* Excellent interpersonal skills – people will want to deal with and be led by you.
* Drive to maximally utilise potential and blend sales with operations.
