About the Role
Wellington School is seeking a motivated and reliable Apprentice Gardens Operative to join our Grounds and Gardening team from August 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to kick-start a career in horticulture while gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of practical gardening and groundskeeping tasks.
Working under the guidance of the Head Groundsman and alongside a small, dedicated team, you’ll help to maintain and enhance the school’s beautiful grounds and gardens all year round. You will need:
* GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
* A genuine interest in horticulture and outdoor work
* Enthusiasm for learning and developing practical skills
* A good level of physical fitness and willingness to work in all seasons
* Strong attention to detail and a pride in delivering high standards
