2025 sees Exeter Community Energy generating solar power from 10 sites with 484kW peak output, having produced over 2.4GWh of electricity so far. Now, we want new voluntary directors to join our team. Having won six awards in three years, we have exciting plans to expand how we use renewable energy to improve our community. Can you help?
What will you be doing?
The director roles are best suited for individuals with a strong interest in helping the environment and/or the local community, motivated to dedicate their spare time to this cause. We are ideally looking for people able to commit upwards of ten hours per month, but we welcome all inquiries. This is a genuine opportunity to contribute to addressing the climate emergency!
We are particularly interested in directors with skills in one or more of the following areas:
* Computing, email, and websites
* Marketing
* Finance
* Running community events
* Writing funding bids
Applicants must be ECOE shareholders, requiring a minimum investment of £50. This role offers a meaningful way to make a difference in the fight against climate change.
Director Responsibilities
* Reporting to the ECOE Board
* Representing ECOE in the community
* Managing and developing projects aligned with ECOE’s goals
* Providing activity updates to the board
* Staying informed about developments in the community energy sector and bringing insights to ECOE
* Leading and supporting new projects and services development
* Building and maintaining stakeholder networks
* Collaborating with other local energy groups to share best practices and achieve common goals
