The role will support the client’s proactive, data‑driven approach to security system management. The role is responsible for analysing event data, identifying trends and recurring issues, and developing actionable recommendations to reduce alarm fatigue and improve system performance. The analyst will collaborate with global, regional, and local stakeholders to implement improvements and ensure insights are clearly communicated and understood across the business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Alarm Data Analysis
* Extract and interrogate security system databases to obtain alarm event logs
* Use SQL or equivalent query languages to filter, clean, and analyse large datasets
* Identify patterns in false alarms, nuisance alarms, recurring faults, and genuine security events
* Provide root‑cause insights to help reduce repeat and avoidable alarms
2. Alarm Reduction Strategy
* Develop evidence‑based proposals to reduce alarm fatigue across sites
* Recommend configuration changes (e.g., sensitivities, thresholds, escalation paths)
* Support optimisation of system behaviours in collaboration with client vendors and technical teams
* Contribute to defining or refining alarm governance, response protocols, and escalation tiers
3. Reporting & Visualisation
* Build and maintain dashboards and visual reporting (Power BI, Excel, or equivalent)
* Present key metrics, trends, and monthly alarm performance summaries to sub‑regional and local security managers
* Highlight high‑risk areas, recurring issues, and progress against KPIs or reduction initiatives
4. Stakeholder Engagement
* Present findings, insights, and solution proposals to security leaders and operational teams
* Run workshops or briefings on alarm management best practice
* Provide training to stakeholders on interpreting data and responding effectively to alarms
* Work closely with the Security Lead and STAT teams to ensure solutions are understood and implemented correctly
5. Continuous Improvement & Proactive Management
* Monitor the impact of implemented changes and iterate based on new data and stakeholder feedback
* Benchmark alarm performance against internal targets and industry standards
* Identify trends over time and proactively flag emerging risks before they escalate
* Stay informed of new technologies, tools, and practices within the security systems domain
Technical Capabilities
* Strong experience of SQL or similar query languages for data extraction and transformation
* Ability to run scripts and extract data from multiple systems as required
* Competency in data visualisation tools (Power BI essential; Excel advanced level desirable)
* Understanding of electronic security systems (alarms, sensors, access control)
* AMAG system architecture, programming and configuration experience
