Catering Assistant – Anchor
Thomas Henshaw Court, Southport
30 Hours per week (8:00am - 6:30pm)
£12.60 per hour | Permanent role
2-week rolling rota with alternate weekends off

About Thomas Henshaw Court

Thomas Henshaw Court is a welcoming and well-established residential care home, offering high-quality support for older people, including those with dementia. Set in the beautiful coastal town of Southport, the home features comfortable living spaces, lovely gardens, and a warm community atmosphere where residents feel truly cared for.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chef Manager, you’ll help deliver a high-standard catering service that meets health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Your role is key to ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious meals in a friendly and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Support meal preparation and food presentation to high standards
2. Serve meals and interact warmly with residents to enhance their dining experience
3. Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene standards (incl. COSHH)
4. Minimise food waste and use kitchen equipment safely
5. Maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen environment
6. Report any issues or concerns promptly

What You’ll Need:

7. Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
8. Knowledge of kitchen safety and COSHH
9. Experience using kitchen tools and handling food safely
10. Previous catering experience – ideally in a care or community setting
11. A friendly, flexible attitude and the ability to work as part of a team or independently
12. Experience working with older people is a plus
