About the role:
InPost has an exciting opportunity for a Nights Transport Supervisor to join our friendly team in Lutterworth. The team oversee the day-to-day bulk movement of parcels by our fleet of Class 1 HGV drivers, ensuring a first-class collection service to our clients (from big brands to SMEs), and on time delivery to InPost Hubs and depots across the UK.
As a Night Transport Supervisor, you will play a key role in coordinating transport activities and supervising a team of drivers, to maintain safety, high standards of efficiency, external and internal customer satisfaction.

📅 Shift Pattern: 4on 4off
🕒 Hours: 18:00pm - 06:00am
💰 Salary: £33,000 per annum increasing to £33,990 after 6 month successful probation
What you’ll be doing:
* Effective team work to deliver the smooth running of day-to-day transport operations, such as allocating vehicles and schedules, brief and debrief of drivers, monitoring on time completion of collections/deliveries
* Achieve team targets (KPIs) by completing tasks accurately and on time
* Supervise a team of drivers, completing all line management activities such as absence, performance, conduct management and supporting colleague wellbeing.
* Role model and uphold high standards of health and safety, ensuring procedures are applied consistently to maintain safe and reliable operations
* Act as a reliable point of contact for drivers, responding to queries clearly and professionally
* Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, policies and rules, such as drivers’ hours, reporting of vehicle defects, using internal systems i.e. Microlise to monitor activities
* Provide dependable support and use initiative to help resolve problems quickly
* Assist with basic fleet checks and upkeep, helping to ensure vehicles remain compliant and well maintained
What we need from you:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team
* Professional and adaptable to sensitively handle difficult conversations with team members and provide professional customer service to external clients
* Ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and complete tasks accurately
* Proactive, positive attitude and initiative to identify risks and solve problems
* Confident basic computer skills (i.e. email) and ability to learn internal systems quickly
* Previous experience/knowledge of transport or logistics environment, such as transport regulations, health & safety legislation, would be advantageous
* Supervisory or line management experience desirable
* A professional and calm approach to handling challenging situations, resilient and able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced transport environment
