Practitioner Psychologist / Psychological Therapist (CBT or CAT)
We are looking for a Practitioner Psychologist or Psychological Therapist to join our friendly, highly-skilled and enthusiastic community of psychological professionals in the Brighton & Hove Neighbourhood Mental Health Team.
Job Summary
Permanent Band 7 post (WTE 0.9). You will work with people who have complex mental health problems, their families and carers. We support your professional development through specialist training, CPD and protected time to gain experience in other parts of Brighton community mental health services. You can also develop a speciality in areas such as trauma, psychosis or complex emotional needs.
Main Duties
* Provide specialist applied psychology services to clients, families or carers.
* Support psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation and training.
* Participate in systematic clinical governance and risk management within treatment plans.
* Use research skills for audit, service development and research within the team/service.
Person Specification – Essential
* Post‑graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology approved by the HCPC, covering psychopathology models, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
* Professional registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment across outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient settings.
* Doctoral level knowledge of research design, methodology and complex multivariate data analysis.
* Experience working with diverse client groups across the lifespan, managing clinical severity and maintaining professionalism in challenging situations.
* Experience applying psychology in multicultural contexts and within a multicultural framework.
