You’ll be joining a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong and growing presence across the UK water sector. The business has secured multiple long‑term water frameworks, creating a stable pipeline of work aligned to the current and future AMP investment periods.
The organisation has a strong technical culture, with engineers operating as design leaders and technical authorities, rather than delivery-only resources. With continued growth across infrastructure and regulated industries, the business is investing in senior talent to help shape its Electrical & ICA capability.
Your new role :
1. Act as a technical authority and design leader for Electrical and ICA systems within water and wider process environments.
2. Lead the design and delivery ofplex Electrical and ICA solutions across major projects.
3. Take ownership of ICA system architecture including instrumentation, PLC, SCADA, motor control systems andmunication networks.
4. Approve and oversee production of P&IDs, instrumentation schedules, URS, FDS, control philosophies and system requirements.
5. Ensurepliance with relevant design standards, ATEX installation practices and functional safety requirements.
6. Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.
7. Manage project delivery against programme, budget and quality targets.
8. Prepare and review technical briefs, scopes of work and bid documentation.
9. Work collaboratively with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
10. Support discipline growth, best practice and technicalernance within the business.
What you'll need to succeed:
11. Chartered Engineer status is essential.
12. Significant experience within the water and wastewater sector in the UK.
13. Strong background in Electrical and ICA system design within regulated process environments.
14. Proven experience acting as a technical authority onplex projects.
15. In‑depth knowledge of ICA architecture, PLC and SCADA systems, instrumentation, motor control systems, P&IDs, ATEX and functional safety.
16. Consultancy or design‑led background preferred.
17. Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or a related discipline.
18. Not suited to building services, transmission and distribution, or software‑only /missioning‑only backgrounds.
