Do you want to support the economy and education by "keeping the wheels running" around the county? By playing your part in helping keep buses on time and reducing congestion you'd enable 1,000s of people to get to work, school, appointments and leisure. Roles in the Communities, Economy and Transport (CET) department offer enormous scope to make a positive impact on the quality of life for people and the environment of East Sussex. From operating waste facilities and registration offices, to maintaining roads and major infrastructure planning, the moment an East Sussex resident steps outside their front door, they are interacting with our work. CET's Transport Hub provides vital connections into the public transport network across the county to help people go about their daily lives, from getting to the gym and the shops, to visiting family and friends. We transport thousands of children to school every day, we provide transport for some of the most vulnerable people in our area and we help people who don't have the opportunity to access public or private transport. Transport Hub services range from fleet management to transport of Adult Social Care customers, contracted bus and community services and home to school transport. The post holder will work as part of the Bus Team within the Transport Hub which is responsible for the provision of a variety of transport services for internal and external clients. We help public transport services to change and adapt to infrastructure and demands, by doing things like supporting the monitoring of real-time passenger information at bus stops or re-routing services around roadworks. Ultimately, we see it as our job to "keep the wheels running" around the county.
