Job summary: We have an exciting new opportunity to join the Breast Feeding Team, supporting women and increasing the prevalence of breast feeding for women living in Brighton and Hove through multi-agency partnership work.
The infant Feeding Lead will ensure the development of multi-disciplinary pathways, policies, and procedures to address infant feeding requirements and implement services to improve breastfeeding rates, especially in areas of disadvantage and vulnerable families.
Main duties of the job
To be a specialist health visitor and provide clinical and professional leadership to the Community Division in the field of infant feeding, enabling the effective delivery of Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust's contracted specialist public health nursing service.
The role will have key specialist clinical, consultative, training, practice development, and strategic responsibilities, providing a visible, accessible, and authoritative presence in the field of infant feeding health.

Person Specification
Qualifications: Degree/diploma in Nursing and subsequent qualification in Health Visiting, Education at master's level or equivalent, and Specialist breast-feeding qualification or willingness to work towards it.
Experience: Significant years as SCPHN HV, Evidence of clinical expertise in relation to Infant Feeding, Evidence of team lead experience, and Evidence of Baby Friendly Initiative leadership.
Skills and knowledge: Ability to demonstrate up-to-date clinical expertise, knowledge of management of people, resources, and caseload, and ability to demonstrate an understanding of relevant NHS legislation and policies.
