Key Responsibilities in Reading specialist SEN school:
1. Provide tailored support to students with Autism, learning difficulties and other SEND.
2. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
3. Promote students’ emotional, social, and academic progress through engaging activities and positive reinforcement.
4. Collaborate with teachers and professionals to deliver inclusive teaching methods.
5. Support students with personal care needs (training provided as necessary).
6. Observe and monitor student progress, maintaining detailed records and reporting to teachers and parents.
7. Contribute to a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes inclusion.
Psychology Graduate in Reading – Requirements:
8. A degree in Psychology (or a related field) is highly advantageous but not essential.
9. Experience working with children or young people with Autism or SEND is desirable but not required.
10. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional learning needs.
11. Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
12. Patience, empathy, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
13. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
14. A current enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
