Groundsperson
Groundsperson - South Oxfordshire (Field-Based) - £30,000 – £36,000 + Overtime
The Job:
We are looking for a motivated and organised Grounds Person to support our arborist teams across South Oxfordshire. This is a hands on, outdoor role suited to someone with at least 1 year of relevant experience, who holds the necessary tickets and takes pride in maintaining safe and efficient work sites. You will be a key part of the team, ensuring operations run smoothly while supporting climbers and delivering high quality arboricultural services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support climbers and arborists with all aspects of tree work
- Operate machinery such as wood chippers and chainsaws (where qualified)
- Manage ropes, rigging support, and ground operations during tree work
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe worksite at all times
- Assist with site setup, including signage and traffic/pedestrian management
- Process timber and brash efficiently
- Load and unload tools, equipment and vehicles
- Carry out daily checks and basic maintenance of tools and equipment
- Follow all health and safety procedures and company standards
The Candidate:
- Minimum 1+ year experience in arboriculture, forestry, landscaping, or similar outdoor role
- Relevant tickets/certifications in place (e.g., chainsaw, chipper – NPTC/LANTRA)
- Strong organisational skills and ability to keep work areas tidy and efficient
- Good understanding of health and safety practices
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Experience working within a tree surgery team
- Additional machinery tickets (e.g., stump grinder)
- First Aid certification (Forestry +F desirable)
- Trailer licence (B+E)

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
