A client within the Public Sector based in Dorset is currently recruiting for an Enforcement Officer to join their Public Protection – Trading Standards Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a public protection or enforcement environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to manage a workload which aims to support those affected by rogue trading practices and criminality, improving the quality of life for the people of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. The post holder will ensure appropriate intervention and prevention measures are taken to address criminality which is causing harm and adversely impacting the most vulnerable members of society. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Responding to complaints about product safety, fair trading, food standards, illicit tobacco and alcohol, age-restricted goods, animal welfare (livestock), weights and measures, and intellectual property using a risk-based approach. • Undertaking inspections arising from information received or gathered, including proactive visits and joint visits with partner agencies such as Police or HMRC. • Preparing and presenting reports and legal documents to support formal action, including notices and penalties. • Working with partners and stakeholders to deli...
