External Mains Water Engineer
Wiltshire & Hampshire areas
Monday to Friday with the occasional weekend and the option of overtime.
£30,000 - £40,000 basic salary + overtime
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Mains Water Engineer to join our expanding national team. This is a rewarding, customer-facing role where you'll take ownership of investigating and repairing external water supply issues for both domestic and commercial properties.
You'll work independently in the field, trusted to make informed decisions, deliver high-quality workmanship, and provide customers with confidence and reassurance at every stage. If you take pride in doing the job properly, and leaving a site better than you found it, we want to hear from you.
The Role
Independently investigate and repair external water supply systems
Accurately identify leak locations and establish ownership/liability for repair works
Carry out safe excavations and pipe repairs using hand and power tools
Install, repair, and renew water supply pipework to a high professional standard
Clearly explain findings and repair processes to customers in a confident and reassuring manner
Maintain proactive communication with our Field Operations Team to ensure smooth job delivery
Reinstate surfaces to a clean, high-quality finishThis is a role for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working outdoors, and delivering visible, tangible results every day.
Experience & Skills Required
Strong experience in external mains water investigations and repairs
Knowledge of leak detection techniques (listening sticks, ground microphones, acoustic equipment)
Proven experience in "find & fix" water supply repairs
Competent in safe excavation and pipefitting techniques
Skilled in using CAT scanners to identify underground services
Experience reinstating paving slabs, block paving, cold lay tarmac, and concrete to a high standard
Ability to create new building entry points for water supplies
Trenchless pipe installation (moling) experience - desirable but not essential
Strong customer service and communication skills
Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently
Full UK driving licenceWhat We Offer
