We are currently seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to join our client's reputable dealership in Swindon. As the Workshop Controller, this vital role offers the opportunity to lead and optimise daily workshop operations within a busy, multi-franchise approved car dealership. * 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with 1 in 3 Saturdays paid as overtime
Your duties as the Workshop Controller will include:
* Managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring efficiency and high standards
* Supervising and motivating a team of approximately 10 Vehicle Technicians
* Allocating work effectively, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines and customer expectations
* Working closely with Service Advisors to plan and allocate work, ensuring accurate estimates and timely delivery
* Monitoring workshop safety, quality control, and technical standards
* Ensuring sufficient resource planning and proactive problem-solving to enhance productivity
* Maintaining good internal communication and team morale
* Upholding health and safety compliance within the workshop environment
Requirements for the Workshop Controller position:
* Proven track record of successfully managing an automotive workshop within a franchised dealership
* Experience supervising or leading a team of vehicle technicians
* Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
* IT literate with the ability to adapt to workshop management systems
* Valid UK driving licence with minimal points
* Experience with Stellantis vehicles and manufacturer training is highly desirable but not essential
* Reside in or be within reasonable commuting distance to Swindon
