Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Emissions Measurement Technician to join our client’s team at a dedicated, state-of-the-art Research & Development Centre in Peterborough. In this fast-paced and professional environment, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Emissions Measurement maintenance department. Location: Peterborough, UK
Job Type: Full-time, 12-month rolling contract
Pay rate: £19.85 - £22.85 per hour basic rate (+22% uplift for the shifts)
Hours: Earlies (05:30-14:00), Days (07:00-16:30), Afternoons (13:00-22:30)
This role includes weekend working – 1 weekend in 4.
Responsibilities
* Install, service, calibrate, and maintain the fleet of advanced emissions measurement equipment.
* Assist engineers in conducting technical investigations of current and future emissions measurement technologies.
* Perform Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and calibration of emissions measurement equipment.
* Oversee the operation of measurement equipment and conduct diagnostic investigations.
* Make modifications to facility plant, test rigs, and equipment.
* Provide first-line breakdown cover to ensure minimal disruption to testing schedules.
* Evaluate products and processes within the emissions measurement discipline.
Skills & Experience Required
* Essential:
o Proven experience in plant or instrumentation maintenance.
o A technical apprenticeship with an electro-mechanical bias or equivalent extensive industry experience.
o The ability to continuously learn and share knowledge with peers.
o A proactive and self-starting approach to tasks.
o A strong understanding of Root Cause Analysis techniques and Permanent Corrective Actions.
o Practical experience and theoretical knowledge of gaseous and/or particulate measurement.
o A strong commitment to safety in the workplace.
o Experience with Horiba MEXA Gaseous Analysers.
o Knowledge of Sierra/Cambustion Particulate Analysers and partial flow systems.
o Familiarity with AVL Smoke/MicroSoot/Opacimeter instruments.
o Experience working in an engine test cell environment.
o Previous experience in an engineering technician role.
