Job Details Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor Building Services (M&E) Location: Aberystwyth Start Date: ASAP Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a leading M&E building services contractor on a university campus project. The work is due to run for roughly 18 months. This role primarily office based, supporting project delivery through coordination of all mechanical activities, documentation, and interfacing with contractors and subcontractors. This role is ideal for a detail oriented individual who thrives in a structured, documentation-heavy environment and has solid technical grounding in mechanical building services within the construction industry. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and supervise all mechanical services works on the project (HVAC, public health, BMS etc.) Manage and review project documentation including drawings, RAMS, O&M manuals, commissioning plans, and technical submittals. Liaise with the main contractor, M&E subcontractors, and client side teams to ensure compliance with programme and specifications. Monitor quality control, ensuring mechanical installations are carried out to specification and industry standards. Support project meetings and progress reviews, reporting on mechanical progress and issues. Review and comment on design drawings, installation methodologies, and technical submissions. Maintain project records and contribute to health & safety documentation and compliance reviews. Assist with commissioning coordination and project handover documentation. Qualifications & Experience: NVQ Level 3 or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent. SSSTS or SMSTS (Site Supervisors’/Managers’ Safety Training Scheme) certification. CSCS Card (Supervisory or Manager level). Demonstrable experience supervising mechanical works on commercial M&E construction projects. Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems (HVAC, plumbing, BMS). Proficient in reading technical drawings and interpreting specifications. Experience working on university, healthcare, or similar public-sector projects is a plus. Competence in Microsoft Office Excellent communication and coordination skills.
