Little Bears Nursery is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager (Room-Based) to join our nurturing and vibrant setting. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to support the daily running of our nursery while leading a room-based team to provide exceptional care and learning experiences for children. The Role As a Deputy Nursery Manager (Room-Based), you will play a key role in supporting the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care and education are maintained. You will lead by example, providing guidance and support to staff within your designated room while fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere. Key Responsibilities * Oversee the daily operations of a nursery room, ensuring a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment for children. * Act as a role model and mentor for practitioners, offering support, coaching, and training. * Assist the Nursery Manager with staff development, recruitment, and performance management. * Ensure all policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health & safety, and EYFS requirements, are adhered to. * Build and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, and carers, promoting a positive nursery experience. * Monitor and assess children’s development, ensuring activities are tailored to their individual needs. * Step up in the absence of the Nursery Manager, ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the setting. What We Are Looking For * Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education (e.g., NVQ, CACHE, or equivalent). * A minimum of two years’ experience in a senior or leadership role within an Early Years setting. * A strong understanding of EYFS framework, safeguarding procedures, and child development. * Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. * Passion for working with children and a commitment to providing outstanding care and education. * A positive and proactive approach, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
