About The Role

There is currently a vacancy within our Transport Department for a full-time driver. The position is mainly based at Pinderfields Hospital but also covers Pontefract and Dewsbury sites.
A flexible approach is essential as some short notice alterations to work patterns may be required to support the service. You will be responsible for transporting equipment, case notes, patients, and other hospital items.
The successful candidate will possess a full, clean driving licence with relevant driving experience. Your driving history should demonstrate compliance with current health and safety legislation. Ideally, candidates will have experience driving a range of vehicles in a workplace environment and have good knowledge of the local area. A pleasant disposition, good communication skills, and experience working with the public are desirable.
This is a permanent full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday from 8:45 am to 4:45 pm.
Main duties
As a driver, you will undertake a range of duties, including possibly driving the hospital staff shuttle bus service across our three sites. You will also transport equipment, case notes, staff, patients, and other hospital items around Wakefield, Dewsbury, and Pontefract.
Working as part of a team, you will deliver a seamless transport service. Responsibilities include maintaining daily vehicle checks, completing relevant checklists, and handling related paperwork.
