Interim Clerk of Works – Guildford – £350 a day (Umbrella)
A Local Authority based in Guildford is recruiting for an Interim Clerk of Works to support the delivery of planned maintenance and capital works programmes across their housing stock.
The role will involve overseeing a range of projects including:
* Roofing renewals and structural works (including underpinning)
* Disabled adaptation installations
* Kitchen and bathroom refurbishment programmes
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out regular site inspections to ensure all works are delivered to the required quality, specification, and safety standards.
* Monitor contractor performance and workmanship, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
* Verify materials, methods, and compliance with drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
* Prepare detailed site reports, maintain accurate records, and support project delivery teams.
* Liaise with contractors, consultants, and residents to ensure works are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Clerk of Works within social housing or local authority settings.
* Strong knowledge of building construction, regulations, and health & safety standards.
* Experience across a variety of planned and capital works projects.
* Excellent communication and reporting skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
