Purpose of the Role: To train and upskill surveyors into specialist template surveyors, enabling them to accurately measure and create precise templates for kitchen worktops Key Responsibilities: Deliver structured training programmes to surveyors transitioning into template surveyor roles, covering the templating process for worktops and angled wardrobes. Teach hands-on use of templating tools and technologies, including measurement software, and company-specific CAD/export tools Train on accurate measurement techniques for kitchen environments: capturing precise dimensions of cabinets, walls, overhangs, joints/seams, cutouts for sinks, hobs/cooktops, taps, and appliances Instruct on site assessment and preparation: evaluating job sites for challenges Provide guidance on health & safety protocols specific to templating work, including safe equipment handling, risk assessment in domestic kitchens, Demonstrate best practices for creating accurate templates, verifying measurements, documenting details, and exporting data for fabrication, Assess trainee competency through practical shadowing, live templating observations, accuracy checks, and sign-off assessments before independent work Maintain up-to-date training materials, guides, and resources as templating technology, software, or processes evolve Support newly trained template surveyors during initial independent jobs, providing troubleshooting and feedback Collaborate with Quartz teams to align training with current sta ndards, customer feedback, and fabrication requirements About You Essential Skills & Attributes: Expert-level proficiency in kitchen worktop templating processes and tools, including laser/digital templating systems and associated software, Extensive practical experience as a template surveyor (minimum 2–3 years recommended) with a proven track record of accurate, error-free templating, Strong training and coaching abilities: clear communicator, patient, able to break down technical processes for learners, Meticulous attention to detail and high standards for precision and quality, Good understanding of kitchen installation workflows, materials (e.g., quartz, granite, solid surface), and common challenges, Organised, with strong documentation and record-keeping skills Applicants for this role who are offered employment will be subject to a basic criminal record check from the Disclosure & Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
