Whether your specialism is in resistant materials, product design, engineering, or textiles, this is a fantastic opportunity to deliver engaging, hands-on learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5, depending on experience. About the Role: Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on Design and Technology lessons that promote creativity, critical thinking, and innovation Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience Incorporate a range of tools, materials, and technologies—including CAD/CAM—to enhance skill development and meet curriculum objectives Ensure a safe, well-organised, and stimulating workshop or classroom environment, in full compliance with health and safety regulations Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to support continued improvement Work collaboratively within the DT department to develop high-quality resources and share effective teaching strategies Create a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere that nurtures curiosity, resilience, and practical problem-solving skills Contribute to extracurricular activities such as design clubs, STEM competitions, or school exhibitions to enrich the student experience The ideal candidate will: UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification A degree in Design and Technology or a closely related field such as Engineering or Product Design Proven experience teaching Design and Technology in a secondary school setting Confident in delivering hands-on practical lessons and effectively managing workshop environments Excellent classroom management and strong organisational abilities A genuine passion for inspiring students to engage with creative and technical subjects Why Work with Supply Desk?
