Education Support Worker - Secondary School (Newport)

We are currently recruiting for a Education Support Worker to join a welcoming and values-led school from September 2026. This role is ideal for graduates-particularly those from psychology or related backgrounds-or individuals with experience in childcare or youth work, looking to build a rewarding career in education.

The Role:
- Supporting students in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing, engagement, and confidence
- Encouraging positive behaviour and inclusion
- Helping to create a safe and supportive learning environment
We Are Looking For:
- Graduates or individuals looking to start a career in education
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Experience supporting young people (desirable but not essential)
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
- EWC registration (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
