The role
The University of Bristol Business School is inviting applications for an outstanding Associate Professor / Professor in Marketing on a full time and open-ended basis.
We are seeking to recruit candidates who are strong scholars and keen to be involved in the development of the Marketing and Consumption Group. The Group is distinctive in approaching marketing as both a core function of businesses and organisations, and as a vibrant academic field that is key to understanding and shaping a rapidly changing world. Its strengths lie in the emphasis it places on the interface of marketing and consumer research. Staff in the group possess a wide range of expertise and experience, encompassing diversity of methodological and disciplinary traditions as well as researcher and practitioner backgrounds. Our research, teaching and engagement priorities are organised around topics that relate to digital marketing and consumption and/or the nexus of marketing, consumption and society.
We care deeply about education and the student experience. We expect the candidate to provide inspiring and innovative teaching undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We are also increasing our interdisciplinary programmes and therefore openness to working with colleagues from other disciplines is an advantage.
What will you be doing?
This is a research and teaching post in Marketing. We wish to appoint a research active associate professor or professor on academic pathway 1 who can provide leadership in their particular field.

1. Consistently pursuing high quality research in marketing and management fields.
2. Demonstrating high quality academic publications in the broad area of marketing, reflected in published, forthcoming and planned work.
3. Contributing to the development of research impact and engagement with non-academic audiences.
4. Applying for external research funds from research councils, government, industry and/or other sources.
5. Teaching and marking at all levels, including executive education.
6. Overseeing the successful design, development and enhancement or review of existing and/or new teaching provision in the school.
7. Supervising MSc dissertations and PhD theses in leading capacity.
8. Acting as personal tutor to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.
9. Mentoring members of the academic group or School on teaching and/or research.
10. Providing leadership within the School or University through work on teams, groups and committees.
