<div><p>The post holder will be responsible for undertaking clinical/administrative duties relating to immunisation, primarily delivered on site for primary and secondary children in schools and in community clinic settings across Norfolk.</p><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><ul><li>Vaccinate 20 to 25 school children per hour (Flu season).</li><li>Work collaboratively to support the team, organisation, and company stakeholders, to facilitate the smooth continuity of service delivery.</li><li>Promote and support the operation of our School Aged Immunisation Service.</li><li>Support Clinical Lead, Team Lead and Programme Managers as applicable.</li><li>Attend sites across different locations as directed by your line manager.</li><li>Deliver an effective, evidence based and competent level of care to patients.</li><li>Participate in clinical supervision and the performance and development of staff.</li><li>Ensure all clinical incidents, near misses and complaints are reported, monitored and processed in line with organisational policies and procedures.</li><li>Participate in audits, making recommendations based on findings and sharing outcomes with the team for learning.</li><li>Ensure record keeping is up to date and in line with company policy, procedure and guidelines.</li><li>Actively and constructively contribute to team meetings.</li><li>Undertake Gillick Competency Assessments and take verbal consent from parents and caregivers.</li><li>Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position.</li><li>Comply with Company policies & procedures.</li></ul><p>Immunisations and proof of Hepatitis B, MMR & Varicella.</p><h3>About us</h3><p>Vaccination UK has been commissioned by NHS England since 2015 to provide school aged immunisations, including Influenza, to pupils across numerous counties and Boroughs across England.</p><p>We are also commissioned by NHS England in North London to provide outbreak response in the event of a vaccine preventable disease outbreak, and we provide the infant BCG programme to newborns in North London.</p><p>Our mission is to fight disease and save lives by making prevention and treatment easy, accessible and safe.</p><h3>Job responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Travel to various sites as needed, working within a small team of vaccinators.</li><li>Administer vaccinations efficiently to meet VUKs hourly vaccination targets, ensuring timely vaccination of school children. This will include IM and nasal vaccinations, so must be proficient in administering IM injections.</li><li>Undertake clinical triage of consent forms and contact parents/guardians as needed before or after clinical sessions.</li><li>Address clinical enquiries from parents/guardians and VUK staff within the scope of your knowledge.</li><li>Transport vaccines to and from sessions as required.</li><li>Participate in clinical supervision and contribute to staff performance and development.</li><li>Report, monitor, and process all clinical incidents and near misses in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.</li><li>Ensure all safeguarding concerns are promptly reported and thoroughly followed up.</li><li>Participate in audits as required by the Clinical Lead.</li><li>Undertake health promotion activities as required by the Clinical Lead.</li><li>Conduct Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from parents and caregivers via phone, both at vaccination sessions and from the office base.</li><li>Maintain a professional demeanour as the representative of Vaccination UK when attending schools.</li><li>Perform other duties appropriate to the role.</li><li>Adhere to Company policies and procedures.</li></ul><p><b>Skills</b></p><ul><li>Effective communication both written and verbal.</li><li>Excellent organisational and time-management skills.</li><li>Strong Customer service and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Assertive, team player and critical thinker.</li><li>Must be able to drive (Desirable).</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Evidence of ongoing professional development.</li><li>Understanding of the Routine National Immunisation schedule.</li><li>Understands and implements the principles of informed consent.</li><li>Understanding the Cold Chain Policy</li><li>Working within PGD frameworks.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Registered Nurse, Pharmacist or Allied Healthcare professional actively registered with their governing body: NMC, GPhC, HCPC.</li><li>Nursing and/or Midwifery Qualification.</li><li>Immunisations and proof of Hepatitis B, MMR & Varicella.</li><li>Basic Life Support certification.</li><li>Evidence of signed off competencies for relevant vaccinations.</li><li>Proficiency in administering IM injections.</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.</p></div>
