Woking Borough Council is seeking an Information Governance Officer who will play a vital role supporting the team to ensure compliance with GDPR, other key governance legislation and regulatory framework. This is an important opportunity to support the Council in maintaining high standards of data integrity and transparency across all its functions.
Responsibilities:
* Process and respond to Freedom of Information and Data Protection requests.
* Support investigations into data breaches.
* Advise on impact assessments and ensure audit compliance.
* Provide expert advice to council officers and members.
* Develop and deliver training programmes to equip staff with the knowledge to handle data responsibly and securely.
Qualifications:
* Strong IT skills.
* Excellent communication abilities.
* Keen eye for detail.
