Job Description
To assist in assessing the design, manufacture, and in-service aspects of engineering assets against agreed Codes, Standards, specifications, and procedures, using experience and knowledge appropriate for routine solutions. This role operates under close supervision and review by the Line Manager or designee.
Location: Home based - Central Scotland
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform technical inspections/assessments (under close supervision) against defined specifications/scope and provide advice for service delivery within agreed parameters, including budget constraints and contractual requirements.
2. Assist in producing reports, certificates, and documents to an agreed format and within specified timescales.
3. Undertake and maintain agreed personal authorisations, follow training plans, perform activity and document monitoring, and pursue continuous professional development. Maintain a high level of discipline knowledge and awareness.
4. Conduct all activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
5. Possess appropriate trade, technical, or vocational qualifications/certifications, including job-specific certifications such as ASME, PED, etc.
6. Preferred: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university (HNC/HND considered depending on experience).
7. Possess sufficient relevant previous work experience to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of requirements, knowledge, and application in areas such as welding, fabrication, materials, machinery, and well control equipment.
8. Effective interpersonal skills.
9. Proficient in MS Office suite of software.
10. Relevant working experience of several years or equivalent knowledge.
