Business Context

1. Hiscox UK is embarking on a major transformation to drive growth and improve efficiency, ensuring we remain competitive in an increasingly complex market.

2. This transformation focuses on four key business areas: Direct, Broker, Operations and Underwriting, with a strong emphasis on building a sustainable, long-term transformation capability.

3. A number ofinitiatives are already underway across these areas, requiring clear ownership, prioritisation and delivery to realise business value.

4. Product Managers will play a critical role as transformation partners to the business, shaping vision, defining roadmaps and driving delivery of change.

5. This is a senior role requiring strong stakeholder management and the ability to build trusted relationships at UKLT level.

The Role-Direct CustomerChannel

This role willpartner with the areathatsupports our Direct Customer relationships. They willbe responsibleforshaping,prioritisingandexecuting onthe roadmapthat evolves the journeysfor customers who manage their insurance directly with Hiscox.


This includes driving the transformation of customer-facing journeys, digital engagement, and self-serve capabilities, ensuring the Direct proposition continues to evolve in line with customer expectations and market trends.

Purpose

6. Collaborate with Senior Leadership to define,ownand continuously evolve themulti-yearroadmap for the business area, with end-to-end accountability for thestrategic outcomes, investmentdecisions, benefitsrealisationacross amulti-productportfolio

7. Be accountable forarticulating, evolving andlanding the outcomesinherent within the roadmapfor the business vertical they are supporting

8. Broker against competing demands to ensurethe righttrade-offsare made to secure the benefits realisation plan

9. Own Discovery & Experience Design.Lead problem framing, hypothesis-driven discovery, facilitate journey mapping and UX/CX collaboration

10. Ensure business outcomes are translated into clearly defined, outcome-based product intent, with requirements elaborated at the appropriate level by the wider deliveryteam. Beingtheambassador and voiceof their journey areawithin the Transformationfunction, ensuring there is a clear articulation of the case for change andthe capability neededto deliver that

11. Agree solutions and compromises to ensure the right decisions are made for our customer groups

12. Identifying issues across the complex delivery landscape and highlighting where business outcomesare under threat to ensure corrective action is taken

13. Create and foster strong relationships with all stakeholder groups across the business and transformation areas

Key Responsibilities

14. Front door to Transformation -Acting as the UKLT’s front door to transformation, reporting to the relevant UKLT member as a dotted line.

15. Define, Own and Iterate theProduct Vision & Strategyfor each business area using both external and internal data to drivestrategic decisions.

16. Backlog Ownership:Define outcomes, prioritise epics/features using a transparent framework tied to measurable value

17. Be embedded within the business areaworking with the senior team to co-create and evolve the strategyand thentranslate this into capability needed.

18. Roadmap development& management-Overall accountability for creating and evolving business area roadmap, ensuringthere is a clear read across to the business strategy

19. Trade Off Management -make and defend complex prioritisation and investment trade-offsacross competing strategic objectives.and act as a ‘strong voice of the business’ in transformation governance

20. Accountable for the delivery and optimisation of material business benefits, includingcommercialgrowth, efficiency, and customer outcomes, and for corrective action where value is at risk, tracking performance and identifying challenges and opportunities

21. Drive out opportunities to enable business owned changeand increasing flexibility and agility in delivery

22. Measurement: Define success metrics (OKRs/KPIs),monitorperformance, and iterate.

Candidate Profile

Skills and Experience

23. Strong experience in the insurance sector, operating as a Product Manager / Senior Product Manager in complex or regulated environmentswith exposure to customer-facing or Direct insurance propositions.

24. Proven experience partnering with senior stakeholders, including Executive/ExCo-level leaders, to shape strategy, define roadmaps and influence investment decisions

25. Track record of leading and delivering large-scale product or transformation initiatives across complex business domains

26. Strong strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to balance growth, efficiency and customer outcomes

27. Experience owning and evolving product roadmaps, including prioritisation, trade-off decisions and benefits realisation

28. Strong capability in discovery and problem framing, working closely with design, technology and business teams to shape solutions

29. Experience embedding customer insight into product and roadmap decisions, particularly within digital or customer-facing environments

30. Comfortable operating in matrixed, cross-functional environments, with strong stakeholder management and influencing capability

31. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate the case for change

32. Experience working in Agile product environments, including backlog ownership and delivery oversight

33. Data-driven mindset, with experience tracking performance and delivering measurable outcomes

34. Collaborative leadership style, with the ability to bring others along the transformation journey
