Maintenance Engineer Leprino Foods is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join our skilled and supportive Maintenance Team at our Magheralin site. In this role, youll be responsible for carrying out preventative and planned maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems. Youll play a key part in fault finding, supporting continuous improvement, and helping to drive efficiency across our operations. Working in line with SOPs, RAMS, and daily plans, youll contribute to the safe and reliable running of our production processes helping us deliver high-quality mozzarella and whey products to customers around the world. Hours of work: 42 hours per week, working a continental shift type pattern (7am 7pm / 7pm 7am). This post includes weekend work as part of a rotating schedule. Salary: £24.99 per hour (inclusive of additional hours payment/shift payment) What you will be doing: Collaborate closely with operators and the engineering team to identify and resolve maintenance issues quickly and effectively Carry out fault diagnosis and corrective actions across plant equipment, automation systems, and networks Contribute to root cause investigations (e.g. 5-Why, RCA, DMAIC) and support the implementation of long-term solutions Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using SAP PM or similar systems to ensure equipment history is up to date Deliver high-quality maintenance work to maximise equipment uptime and support consistent product quality Assist in developing and improving preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and improve reliability Communicate temporary fixes and unresolved issues to Team Leaders and incoming shifts to ensure continuity. Participate in coaching, training, and knowledge-sharing sessions to support team development and continuous improvement. Promote a clean, safe, and efficient working environment, ensuring high standards of workmanship across all tasks Support the engineering management team with insights into day-to-day operations and contribute to best practice development Essential Criteria: -Health & Physical Requirements: Physically agile with ability to access all areas of plant and equipment. Capable of working at heights and in confined spaces. Willingness to work rotating 12-hour continental shifts, including nights and weekends. Flexibility to work beyond core hours and remain on-site until job completion. Availability for overtime to cover holidays and absences. Willingness to move between engineering teams to support skills balance. -Technical Skills & Experience: Minimum 4 years recent and relevant experience in a production/manufacturing environment. NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (with strong cross-trade mechanical/electrical skills) or NVQ Level 3 in Mechatronics. Proven cross-trade practical skills in: Diagnostics and repair of electrical and automation systems. PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks (e.g. Profibus DP/PA, Profinet, AS-I, Ethernet). Electronic circuits, panel building, PLC wiring, and updating panel drawings. Mechanical systems including pumps, seals, gearboxes, conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Air compressors and dryers. -Knowledge & Competence: Detailed understanding of manufacturing equipment and safety requirements for maintenance. Knowledge of safe working practices and maintaining a safe work environment. Competent numeracy and literacy skills. Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel).
