About the role
The Thales Training & Simulation team (TTS) has an outstanding opportunity for an Engineering Delivery Manager to join the team. The role focuses on Bids and Projects, leading the engineering team to define, develop and deliver the solution for bids in collaboration with partners, suppliers and the customer/end-user.
As the Engineering Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for all engineering management aspects of the TS Solution, ensuring that technical governance and strategy are defined for the life of the contract. You will assume full responsibility for the delivery, management and development of the Engineering Management Plan.
Day to day you will
* Define the Engineering team’s WBS and OBS, the engineering lifecycle, the schedule of work and the engineering management plan.
* Direct and lead the team to achieve project stage reviews and milestones to cost, schedule and quality.
* Ensure successful Customer Acceptance of the ES solution.
* Provide strong technical leadership to mature the solution to satisfy requirements and achieve acceptance, accreditation and certification.
* Manage project and technical risk and opportunity.
* Implement an objective monitoring regime to identify issues early and define recovery actions to ensure on-time delivery.
* Ensure activities are conducted safely and in line with Legal and Company requirements.
* Collaborate with the wider project team, alliance partner, customer/end-user, functions, suppliers and sub-contractors to deliver against commitments.
About You
You will have a background in Engineering with a strong focus on bid and project work. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels are essential. You should be comfortable navigating complexity and blockers to resolution. Key skills and experience include:
* Experience as an Engineering leader, driving a proactive and dynamic team culture.
* Proven capability for complex systems development across the product lifecycle.
* Sound understanding of System Engineering principles, processes and practices.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Commercially knowledgeable and customer/end-user focused.
* Experience of training solution development, integration and acceptance (desirable).
* Contract negotiations and dispute resolution (desirable).
