Midwife Band 7 (Interim)
Bereavement and pregnancy loss interim role for 10 months at Whipps Cross Hospital.
This is a ten‑month fixed‑term contract, which may be slightly shorter than 10 months to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process and finalise pre‑employment checks. The contract will begin when the candidate starts the role.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate bereavement and pregnancy loss services on an interim basis for women at Whipps Cross Hospital.
* Provide the highest standard of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualized, holistic care to women who have suffered pregnancy loss in conjunction with the inter‑professional team.
* Support women and staff during difficult circumstances, act as a professional role model and clinical teacher.
* Provide organisational, management and leadership to the maternity unit on all aspects of bereavement.
* Work closely with obstetric leads to review, evaluate and develop the bereavement and pregnancy loss clinics, services and processes.
Qualifications
* Registered midwife with at least 2 years of post‑registration experience, including at least 1 year in an acute intrapartum setting.
* Strong interpersonal skills and competence in supporting women and staff during difficult circumstances.
* Passion and commitment to providing high quality care for women.
* Ability to act as a professional role model and clinical teacher.
