Overview
Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor — Discipline: Rail — Salary: £21,000 – £25,000 + Benefits. This exciting role is working as part of a multi-disciplinary, multi million pound investment team in a number of HS2 integration projects across the West Midlands region. Working alongside the project team, you will support the Commercial Manager and key Stakeholders through the development stage and into delivery for a number of medium – long term schemes. In your new role as Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will report into and work closely with the Commercial Manager on projects of values between £5 - £10m.
Responsibilities
* Take the lead with contract administration and record keeping
* Identify opportunities to maximise cost/value management
* Assist with the procurement and management of subcontract packages
* Assist with the internal valuations / CVR / End Life Forecasts
* Assist with preparation of contractual claims
* Measure and assess the work undertaken and then submit detailed, accurate and timely applications
* Support the project team in all commercial matters
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
* Educated to or training towards a degree in Quantity Surveying
* Must be computer literate
* Full Driving Licence
Desirable
* Knowledge of safety, quality, environmental, commercial and financial aspects.
