Job Description
New Directions Education are seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to join a secondary school in Knowsley from September. This full-time, long-term position offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their skills in a supportive environment.

The Role:
• Planning and delivering engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Supporting students to develop strong literacy skills, critical thinking, and a love of reading and writing.
• Preparing students for GCSE examinations and assessing progress regularly.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop curriculum and share best practice.
• Contributing to the wider school community and supporting students’ personal growth.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is currently completing QTS (ECTs welcome).
• Demonstrates a strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment requirements.
• Passionate about inspiring young people and committed to raising achievement.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Able to provide school-based references from the last 5 years.
• Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS background check.
