Hours: 30 Hours Per Week (Term time only)

Salary: Grade 6 - £28,142 x 71.22%

Start Date: ASAP

The Governing Body wish to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant to work at Pontrhondda Primary School to complement our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a school that places wellbeing, inclusion and equality at its core, with a strong focus on high quality learning and pupil support. While the role will be mainly working in Progression Step 1, we expect a flexibility to work with pupils across the school, supporting all age groups.

The successful candidate will:

•Support children’s learning across the school, both in class and through intervention work, under the guidance of teaching staff/ALNco.

•Be prepared to provide classroom support or emergency cover when required.

•Assist with the planning and preparation of resources, including those for wellbeing and intervention sessions.

•Demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of pupils and actively promote inclusivity.

•Work effectively as part of a team to support children’s emotional, social and academic development.

•Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and families.

•Be flexible, proactive and caring in their approach to supporting children.

•Be willing to participate in school events and enrichment activities.

PROTECTING CHILDREN AND ADULTS AT RISK IS A CORE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SCHOOL AND COUNCIL. IN ADDITION TO THIS SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITY, THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT FOR THE ROLE WILL ALSO BE SUBJECT TO AN ENHANCED DISCLOSURE AND BARRING SERVICE CHECK.
