Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive primary school in Barnet. This is a full-time position with the flexibility of an immediate start or a September 2026 commencement, with the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate. You will be responsible for providing tailored support to pupils with diverse learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive within a supportive classroom environment. Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH. Assist the class teacher in adapting learning materials and resources to meet individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Support pupils with emotional regulation, social development, and communication strategies. Work closely with the SENCo and external professionals to monitor and report on pupil progress. Foster an inclusive and positive learning atmosphere that encourages independence and confidence. Essential Candidate Requirements Proven experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within a primary school setting. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils with complex needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. A proactive attitude and a commitment to inclusive education. A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable but not essential.
