Employer Engagement Consultant
The Growth Company’s (GC) Employment team have an exciting new opportunity for a Employer Engagement Consultant within our Restart Scheme, you will be part of a government initiative that provides personalised support for up to 12 months to help people find a job in their local area and help overcome any challenges that might be standing in the way of employment.
We help to make a lasting difference to the lives of people throughout the North of England and beyond, by supporting individuals to gain meaningful employment.
Our highly skilled advisers and keyworkers work with a range of individuals; from people who have found themselves recently out of work, to those with complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health, and debt.
A driving licence and access to a personal car are required for this role, due to travel expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Generate employer leads through digital, telephone and face‑to‑face sales activity, including regular meetings and attendance at networking events.
2. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal colleagues, external partners and key stakeholders to maximise referrals and business opportunities.
3. Use a consultative approach to understand employer recruitment and workforce needs, promoting suitable GC products and cross‑selling services where appropriate.
4. Source vacancies aligned to customer needs through direct employer engagement and reverse marketing activity.
5. Advertise vacancies clearly and arrange interviews, ensuring all details and adjustments are communicated effectively to customers and advisors.
6. Provide ongoing employer account management, including in‑work support, feedback collation and promoting equal opportunity frameworks.
7. Liaise with training teams and partners to facilitate pre‑employment training opportunities based on employer requirements.
About You:
8. Warm, approachable and able to build rapport quickly with employers, partners and customers.
9. Motivated by achieving challenging targets and delivering high‑quality service.
10. Flexible, with the ability to travel and occasionally work outside standard hours.
11. Confident engaging with adults aged 18+ with learning needs and/or autism.
12. Knowledgeable about the local labour market, recruitment methods and growth sectors.
13. Comfortable working with diverse stakeholders including employers, local authorities and training providers.
14. Professional, organised and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
Skills Required:
15. Proven sales experience with the ability to identify opportunities, engage decision‑makers and close contracts.
16. Strong interpersonal, networking and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage expectations and resolve issues.
17. Experience supporting people with disabilities and understanding their employment needs.
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
19. Ability to work to KPIs and targets in a fast‑paced environment.
20. Strong IT capability, including use of MIS systems, spreadsheets, email and diary management.
21. Knowledge of recruitment, training services and welfare‑to‑work programmes.
22. Experience securing vacancies and supporting job starts is desirable.
