Management Accountant
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
Location: Alfreton (Hybrid Working)
We are partnering with a successful and growing UK business to recruit a Management Accountant to join their finance team.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a recently qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA accountant, or someone in the final stages of qualification, who has gained experience within industry and is looking to take the next step in their career.
Working within a supportive and commercially focused finance team, you will gain broad exposure across financial reporting, business partnering, budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance, with excellent opportunities for development and progression.
The Role
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial information, supporting business performance, and providing insight to help drive strategic decision-making.
This is a hands-on role offering exposure to a wide range of finance activities and close interaction with stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting analysis
* Assisting with month-end close and financial reporting processes
* Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
* Producing variance analysis and performance reporting
* Assisting with cash flow forecasting and working capital management
* Supporting Capex reporting and investment analysis
* Partnering with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and challenge
* Supporting year-end and interim audit requirements
* Producing ad hoc reports, analysis and financial modelling as required
* Identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting
About You
* Qualified or recently qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA accountant
* Ideally 1-3 years' experience within an industry-based finance role
* Strong understanding of management accounting principles
* Experience supporting month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting
* Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret data
* Strong communication skills and confidence working with non-finance stakeholders
* Commercially minded with a desire to understand how finance supports business performance
* Proactive, ambitious and keen to continue developing professionally
