An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineerto join our Driver Controls Design Group, covering a wide variety of engineering disciplines and assemblies throughout the F1 car, including all driver control systems and assisting with driver fit.
Collaborating with the Group Principal and Head of Suspension Steering and Brakes, you will be responsible for undertaking and guiding a range of designs from initial concepts through to prototype production working closely with other Engineering departments.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Concept design through to detailing of mechanical, hydraulic and composite components and assemblies.
* Carry out background stress and sizing calculations and produce supporting documentation.
* Conduct and contribute to design reviews at individual through to whole engineering team level.
* Deputising for the Principal Engineer and Head of Department as required.
* Adopt end-to-end ownership for projects incorporating manufacture, build, testing and racing, including fault analysis and resolution requiring close collaboration with the wider team.
* Support checking of detailed drawings, including design review against specification and previous designs and competitor analysis.
* Drive continuous improvement and promote autonomous creativity to unlock performance.
* Engage with development of junior members of the team, mentoring and instilling best practice and a mindset of continuous improvement.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has:
* An in-depth understanding of fundamental engineering principles.
* A relevant degree or equivalent qualification supported by significant design experience in motorsport, aerospace or a related field.
* The ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritise work to varying deadlines.
* Strong CAD skills, ideally with experience of Siemens NX, however training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems.
* Data analysis experience would also be beneficial.
* A passion for engineering, innovation and detailed design work.
* Great organisational skills and be well organised with the ability to clearly prioritise tasks to agreed deadlines.
