Position Summary
The Summer Engineering Intern is responsible for the asset data collection, working with subcontractors, assists with cost control of a variety projects and road maintenance activities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Culvert Inspections
2. Quality Control of Line Painting
3. Data Entry
4. All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
5. Knowledge of road construction and maintenance methods is an asset
6. Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve practical problems.
7. Good verbal communication skills, effective written communication skills to prepare reports, recommendations and rationale statements
8. Knowledge of the environment and regulations
9. Ability to multitask, use resources effectively and meet scheduled deadlines.
10. Strong computer skills required
11. Ability to travel
Education and Experience
12. High School Diploma
13. Currently enrolled in an Engineering program or equivalent.
14. Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License.
15. Must maintain a clear driver’s license with no suspensions and will abide by and be in conformance with all Ferrovial Services Policies and Procedures regarding operation of motor vehicles.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands
16. Ability to reach, bend, squat climb, stand and sit
17. Ability to work in both an indoor and outdoor environment
18. Must have the ability to wear the required PPE
19. Must have the ability to work in noisy or fast paced environments – taking safety into account at all times
The pay rate for this position is $21/hour.
