Fixed-term contract to 31st March 2027 (with potential extension subject to funding)
£12.21 or national minimum wage

Our client is a trusted grassroots charity with over 33 years of experience supporting BAME communities across Preston. The organisation provides free, accessible and culturally sensitive services for individuals facing inequality, hardship and barriers to mainstream support.
The Role
As a Project Worker, you will play a key role in delivering community-focused projects that support residents, particularly men and young people.
Key responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one advice and practical support on housing, benefits, employment and wellbeing
Maintain accurate, confidential case records, with appropriate follow-up and referrals
Deliver community outreach and engagement activities, particularly supporting men and young people
Facilitate workshops, group sessions, peer support and wellbeing-focused activities
Build trusted relationships that encourage long-term participation and resilience
Support the planning and delivery of community projects, working alongside staff and volunteers
Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting to meet funder requirements
Attend meetings, training and supervision, ensuring compliance with safeguarding, equality and health & safety policies
Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends (TOIL available)
The ideal candidate
You will be a motivated and community-minded individual with strong people skills and a commitment to supporting diverse communities. You'll have:
Experience in project delivery or community outreach
Ability to engage and support people from diverse backgrounds
Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection
Strong IT and organisational skills, with excellent communication
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and culturally sensitive practice
Cultural understanding or lived experience of the communities served
Desirable:
GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) or relevant qualifications
Training in advice and guidance, social work or community development
Knowledge of local services and experience supporting vulnerable people
Experience evaluating projects and using social media or digital systems
Ability to speak a community language
