Job Title: Housing Repairs Manager
A vacancy has arisen for a Housing Repairs Manager within the Housing Asset and Investment team. The successful candidate will lead, develop, and improve the housing "client" repairs and maintenance service, overseeing responsive repairs, planned and cyclical maintenance programs, including voids and Council house adaptations, for a housing portfolio of 12,500 Council homes.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Educated to HND level or equivalent in a building, construction, or management discipline, or extensive experience in a similar role.
2. Experience in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused repairs and maintenance service, including contract management and monitoring of financial and operational performance of both in-house and external contractors.
3. Experience in budget monitoring, ensuring value for money.
4. Knowledge of repairs and maintenance, statutory and regulatory landlord obligations, and health and safety legislation.
5. Ability to handle complex verbal and written complaints from a wide range of stakeholders.
6. Proficiency in IT skills, report writing, data analysis, and developing customer-focused service improvements.
7. Proven track record in managing diverse teams, problem-solving, and implementing change.
8. Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment with competing demands.
9. Commitment to personal development, self-motivation, results-driven, and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
10. Driving license is desirable.
11. Willingness to attend meetings or events outside of regular hours as required.
