We're looking for a number of Junior Mechanical Engineers to work within our Mechanical Engineering teams on a 24 month fixed term contract basis. If you've got strong engineering first principles knowledge and want to work on cutting edge technology and make a real impact on our power unit we want to hear from you As a junior role you will be supported by our Senior Engineers and Team leaders to develop your skills and experiences whilst making a tangible contribution to our engineering effort.
Key responsibilities of our Junior Mechanical Engineers
Design and develop cutting edge technology to feed into current and future generations of our F1 power unit.
Support fault resolution, from reviewing damaged components, carrying out analysis of failures to designing the fault fix and defining the test requirements for race prove out.
Maintain and develop good relations with other members of the design team as well as all supporting areas of the business.
Liaise with other staff within Red Bull Powertrains and other Red Bull Groups to enable the Company to produce a high-quality product in a timely manner.
Provide flexible attendance in line with the requirements of the role and carry out any other reasonable duties as defined by the team.
At all times work in a professional manner, proactively promote a positive image for the department, team, and sponsors, and ensure that any task assigned to you is completed swiftly, thoroughly and to the highest standard.
Display and maintain the highest standards of personal conduct while representing the Company.
At all times understand and respect the confidentiality of Company Intellectual Property, Assets, Procedures, and Operational Structures
Essential Competencies:
A Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification at grade 2:2 or higher, and able to demonstrate a high level of Mechanical Engineering competence in both technical and practical applications. Experience in F1 hybrid power unit design is advantageous but not essential. Equivalent high-performance racing engine experience or involvement in high-performance R&D projects is equally considered.
A good understanding of F1 Power Unit design and its contribution to on track performance.
CAD capability is a must in one of the major packages. (Training will be provided)
Practical knowledge of stress analysis of static and dynamic components.
Awareness of design for manufacture and design for assembly.
Technical drawing with GD&T of complex machined parts. (Training can be provided)
