37.5 hours per week, Monday- Friday
£38-£40,000 per annum
The Camping and Caravanning Club is the world's oldest and largest Club for all forms of camping and our aim is to help people enjoy the simple pleasures that camping can bring.
We are recruiting for a Marketing Manager – Email/CRM. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing both the acquisition of new leads and the retention and loyalty strategy for existing customers. This dual focus is achieved through lifecycle marketing programmes, primarily utilising the Email Service Provider (ESP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This role drives database growth, customer lifetime value (CLV), and revenue by ensuring highly personalised, timely, and relevant communications across the entire customer journey.
Daily duties and responsibilities will include:
* Define the overarching strategy for email and CRM programmes (including SMS/Push, where applicable) focused on retention, loyalty, and maximising customer lifetime value (CLV).
* Own the strategy and implementation of lead capture and acquisition efforts (e.g., sign-up forms, pop-ups, lead magnets, and content upgrades) across the website and other digital channels to drive database growth and qualified leads.
* Take ownership of all customer-facing emails, including system-triggered transactional communications (e.g., booking, password reset, join, renew etc) to ensure brand consistency, compliance, and optimal performance.
* Design, implement, and manage all automated customer journeys (e.g., Welcome Series, Abandoned Cart, Win-Back, Post-Purchase) and define the triggers and content for each stage.
* Own the segmentation strategy within the CRM, creating granular, data-driven audiences to enable highly personalised messaging and content.
* Oversee the end-to-end execution of business as usual and promotional email campaigns, ensuring accurate targeting and timely deployment.
* Actively monitor email deliverability, sender reputation, and list health metrics, implementing strategies to maximise inbox placement and minimise spam complaints.
* Lead a continuous testing roadmap focused on improving email performance metrics (Open Rate, Click-Through Rate, Conversion, Unsubscribe Rate) across automated flows and campaigns.
* Forecast, track, and report on key CRM metrics (e.g., LTV, repeat purchase rate, CLV), providing detailed analysis of campaign effectiveness and strategic insights to management.
* Own the overarching contact strategy, including setting communication frequency caps and suppression rules. Work closely with the Digital Manager and Technology teams to ensure seamless data flow between the website, CRM, and other customer data platforms to enable and enforce this strategy.
We are looking for the following in applications:
* Degree in Marketing, Business or equivalent relevant professional experience (minimum 4 years).
* Advanced proficiency in a leading Email Service Provider (ESP) or Marketing Automation Platform (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, DotDigital).
* Proven experience defining and executing a commercially successful email and CRM strategy that demonstrably improved customer retention and Customer Lifetime Value (CLV).
* Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining complex, multi-stage automated customer journey programmes (e.g., welcome, abandoned basket, loyalty tiers).
* Experience working effectively with Data, Analytics, and Technology teams to manage data flows and platform integrity.
