About the role:
This is an exciting role for a part or fully qualified accountant with the intellectual challenge of analysing and understanding the development of a rapidly growing organisation. As FP&A Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our reporting and analytical capabilities, working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and the C-suite. Supporting the FP&A Manager, you will deliver high-quality financial insights that drive decision-making and strategic growth.
This role is located in our Northampton office with hybrid working arrangements of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home if required.
Key responsibilities include:
Business Partnering:
* Finance Business Partner to key business stakeholders including the MD of Commercial Ops and associated Senior Management Team
* Track, Analyse, Report and Forecast Sage's Commercial pipeline, providing strategic understanding of progress and outlining opportunities and risks across the company's portfolio
* Influence current and new projects and business strategies through commercial and financial support
* Evaluate opportunities and risks within the business and report recommended actions to senior leadership
* Present to senior leadership monthly financials with findings, analysis and insights
* Finance lead for operational business performance, notifying leadership of potential changes to current targets including reasoning, ongoing expectations with commercial reasoning and financial impact
Budgeting & Forecasting:
* Responsible for delivering Commercial Operations projections which underpins the company's financial performance
* Responsible for the projection of operational key metrics across the business for annual budget and quarterly forecast cycles
* Ownership of financial inputs and outputs resulting from business targets
* Financial modelling to capture all datapoints, assess and analyse
* Presentation skills required to provide commercial reports to the leadership team, Investors and the Board for approval
Reporting and Analysis
* Provide commercial insight on operational activities across the business
* Ad Hoc analysis/ deep dive into various areas of the business to provide additional colour to MBR audience
* Responsible for providing weekly updates and monthly result reporting and analysis to business management / Investors and Boards on Sage's portfolio performance
About you
* Proven experience in financial reporting, planning, and analysis
* Active progression toward a professional accounting qualification such as CIMA preferred but not essential
* Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on producing accurate and reliable reports
* Demonstrated ability to independently organise, manage, and drive projects or tasks to completion
* Advanced financial reporting and analysis skills with a strong understanding of business performance metrics
* Expertise in engaging and managing senior business stakeholders, combining commercial acumen with an operational mindset
* Strong communication and influencing skills to effectively collaborate and drive decisions
* Proficiency in financial modelling and advanced Excel capabilities
* Robust analytical skills and the ability to identify key performance drivers and solve complex problems
