School governors make up the largest volunteer group in the country. They come from all walks of life, united by a shared commitment to children’s education and a desire to support their schools and communities. As a Governing Body Adviser, you’ll be trained and employed by Lancashire County Council to provide expert advice and guidance to governing bodies across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Be an enthusiastic and active member of the governing body team.
2. Be willing to ask questions and contribute as a critical member the board.
3. Coordinate Governing Body meetings in collaboration with the Headteacher and Chair of Governors and accurately record discussions and agreed actions.
4. Offer up-to-date advice to governing body members, supporting and constructively challenging their decisions.
