Essential Requirements: Driving License, DBS, Registered with Social Work England
Essential Qualification: Social Work Degree/DipSW/CQSW or equivalent; Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience within a childcare setting
Role Description
Independent Reviewing Officer – Child Protection Conference Chair.
The role involves chairing child protection conferences, offering specialist advice and guidance to social work teams to ensure effective and high‑quality child protection plans.
Responsibilities
* Chair child protection conferences and lead discussions with children, families, social workers and partners.
* Provide expert advice and support to social work teams, managers and partner organisations.
* Challenge and support social workers to improve care planning for children at risk of significant harm.
* Ensure that child protection plans are of high quality and good practice.
Qualifications
* Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
* Extensive experience in a statutory social work setting and in child protection conference environments.
* In‑depth knowledge of the Independent Reviewing Officer role and its responsibilities.
